Actor bringing message of faith, marriage

June 6, 2013

Actor Kirk Cameron will bring his message of faith and marriage to First Baptist Church Elkhart in Bristol on Saturday.

BREMEN — Kirk Cameron is a well-known actor and producer, but he is also a father of six and a husband passionate about the idea of family and marriage.
That passion has led to Cameron’s involvement with a pair of talks called “Love Worth Fighting For” where he is scheduled to appear.
“Love Worth Fighting For” is Saturday, June 8, at 12:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. and sponsored by Feed Your Faith at First Baptist Church Elkhart in Bristol.
People who attend should expect “music, humor, personal stories, and ancient teaching on how to have the very best marriage you can possibly have,” Cameron said during a May 30 phone interview with The Bremen Enquirer.
Cameron said the event’s goal is “for people to understand how amazing marriage is and how to make it work.”
Cameron, along with musical guest Warren Barfield, will headline in this event aimed at building strong marriages.
“There are great victories for those who are willing to fight for their marriage,” Cameron said.
Both programs on Saturday are open to the public. Tickets are from $20 to $35. The later program was recently added to meet demand, according to organizers.
“’Love Worth Fighting For’ is an event for everybody, whether you are married, whether you are single, whether you are divorced, whether you go to church or whether you don’t go to church,” said Cameron, perhaps best known for his role as Mike Seaver in the sitcom “Growing Pains.”
The environment is relaxed, and is a perfect place to bring a spouse on a date night or come alone to be encouraged, Cameron said.
With 30 stops in multiple states for this event, Cameron said he continues to see and be uplifted by how much people value their marriages.
“It’s great for me to travel around the country and see how many people want to fight for their marriage,” he said.
Tickets are still available according to event organizers. To order tickets or to find additional information for Feed Your Faith’s “Love Worth Fighting For” tour,  visit www.feedyourfaith.org.
