2 teens killed in bridge crash

June 29, 2012

PLYMOUTH — Two Plymouth High School students were killed Thursday night in a car crash on 12th Road.
Marshall County Coroner Bill Cleavenger released details on the violent crash that took the life of the boys who were students at PHS.
Killed instantly were 16-year-old Vincent Cody Poczik, the driver, and his 16-year-old passenger Hunter Brandt, both of Plymouth.
Two witnesses said two vehicles were west bound on 12th road west of Nutmeg Road at a high rate of speed. Apparently the first vehicle struck the guard rail on the north side of the bridge over the Yellow River, flipped over it and went down the steep embankment striking two trees. One tree fell across 12th Road while the second tree was broken off from the impact but stayed upright because of the location of the vehicle.
Crews were on the scene for several hours and had to call REMC to help with power lines and a bucket truck to trim the tree the car ended up against.
