The were gorgeous at night and now the mums that were part of the Nappanee mums carpet are going for $1 a pot. They are in full bloom. All proceeds go to area churches. So come on down while they last.

Bremen gifted with Fire Hydrant Flags

BREMEN – Bremen started its first October meeting with reception of a great gift from the township of 100 hydrants markers.
As Alex Mikel of the water department said, “It is a generous offer.” This brings to 143 markers -- flags that make finding hydrants easier at night and during snow-covered conditions -- against 227 total hydrants.

Festival of Faith is Sunday

he Bremen Ministerial Association is banding together for its annual Festival of Faith in Song at the Bremen Church of God on Sunday, at 7 p.m.
The Festival of Faith in Song has long been a tradition followed by the Bremen Ministerial Association, a group of local churches in Bremen that includes Agape Fellowship, the Bremen Church of God, Horizon Ministries, the Bremen United Methodist Church, First United Church of Christ, St. Dominic Catholic Church, the Bremen Church of the Brethren and the Riverside United Methodist Church.

The department issued one traffic citation and one traffic warning. There were eight ordinance violations issued.
There were three Theft Instance Reports, one instance of criminal mischief, Driving while Suspended, and Identity Theft.

Love of Community: Horse Saddle shop

The Horse Saddle Shop CLosed the Outdoor Fall Events in Bremen with the Annual Line Dancing exhibition this past weekend.
In conjunction with that, the shop helped the United Way by partnering with their partners across Plymouth Street, Tim Martin Ford, the long-standing business founded by Tim with his dad, Joe, and brother, Joe, Jr.
Anyond who test drove a Ford on the day of the Saddle Shop event had a donation made to the county United Way. It is the second such partnership for the Ford store, as they earlier did the same with the Bremen HigH School volleyball and football teams.

BREMEN – The Bremen Public Library Board of Trustees announces Kyle D. Burkett of South Bend has accepted the position of Library Director of the Bremen Public Library. Burkett has most recently had positions within the St. Joseph County Public Library system as Assistant to the Branch Manager of the Lakeville Branch and as Circulation Supervisor at the Roger B. Francis Branch. A 2005 graduate of Indiana University with a B.A. in English, Burkett began his career in 2001 as an undergraduate working for the Indiana University Residential Programs and Services Libraries in Bloomington.
