Bremen’s baseball team dropped an 11-5 decision to NSC foe New Prairie Monday night in Bremen.
Eric Knepper took the loss on the mound, his first of the year. He also doubled in the loss.

Plymouth’s baseball team plated three runs in the top of the seventh to rally past host LaPorte 7-6 Saturday.
Cody Gamble got the win on the mound relieving Brayden Davidson in the seventh.
Blake Milliser doubled in the win, which pushes Plymouth to 4-6.

Plymouth tops 4-way in home-opener

PLYMOUTH — Plymouth’s boys golf team is off to a strong start.
The Pilgrims opened the season Saturday with the championship at the Goshen Invitational. On Thursday they celebrated their home-opener by topping the pile in a four-way meet with Culver Military, Triton and South Bend Adams, tallying a 160 score to beat out CMA by four strokes on a blustery night at the Plymouth Country Club.
It was just the second time in head coach Ben Waymouth’s tenure that the Pilgrims have been able to beat the Eagles.

Plymouth edges Logan
Plymouth’s baseball team claimed a 10-9 victory over Logansport at home at Bill Nixon Field Thursday night.
The Pilgrims fell behind early but plated four runs in the bottom of the sixth, then held off Logan in the seventh for the win.
David Bacon got the win on the mound, and Cam Eveland earned the save.
Spencer MaeCroft and Jeremy Splix doubled as Plymouth racked up 16 hits in the win.

Girls tennis
Triton tops LaVille
Triton’s girls tennis team trumped LaVille in a Northern State Conference meet Wednesday night in Bourbon, 4-1.
The Trojans surrendered just four games on the singles courts, where they swept LaVille. Carrie Slabaugh and Holly Stogsdill won at 1 doubles for the Trojans.
LaVille’s lone win came at 2 doubles in three sets, where Kelci Watts and Katie Simmons battled back for a 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 win over Michal Scherer-Berry and Cassie Irons.
Triton moves to 5-1 overall with a 2-0 conference start with the win.

Plymouth shells Memorial, 16-6

ELKHART — It was hard to find something not to like in Plymouth’s opening game of the 2014 NLC season. The Pilgrims came out 16-6 winners and banged out 19 hits in the game. They led from first pitch to final pitch.
“Coming after Saturday when we struggled a little bit, didn’t put the ball in play very well, we did hit the ball well,” said Plymouth head coach Ryan Wolfe. “We were going to emphasize that tomorrow in practice, with five games coming up give the arms a little rest and get a lot of swings in, but we did hit the ball well.”

Bremen’s Smith signs with Indiana Wesleyan

BREMEN — Bremen’s Morgan Smith has signed a letter of intent to attend Indiana Wesleyan University where she will continue an outstanding tennis career. Entering her last season at Bremen High School, Smith has been a three-time team MVP and named All-Northern State Conference each season. In addition, Smith has two sectional titles at No. 1 singles. She has been recognized as All-State Honorable Mention by the Indiana High School Tennis Coaches Association for the past two seasons and twice selected to the All-District team. “
