Pilgrims top Satellites with walk-off

May 19, 2014

PLYMOUTH — Sandwiched in the midst of a hectic Northern Lakes Conference schedule, the Pilgrims wanted to avoid a letdown in their non-conference game with South Central Saturday.
Mission accomplished.
Plymouth rallied with two outs, Brayden Davidson hit a walk-off single, and the Pilgrims claimed a 5-4 victory over the visiting Satellites at Bill Nixon Field.

Lions on verge of title as NSC meet suspended

May 15, 2014

WALKERTON — Bremen is on the verge of a Northern State Conference boys track championship.
But it hasn’t happened yet.
The Lions lead New Prairie, 136-127, with one event remaining in the league meet at John Glenn High School.
Horrid weather conditions forced suspension of the pole vault Wednesday night. Vaulters will gather at 5 p.m. today to finish up.
While New Prairie’s girls have wrapped up an NSC title — there is nothing anybody can do to catch them — the outcome of the boys contest is still up in the air.

Lady Pilgrims take 2nd at NLCs

May 14, 2014

WARSAW — At the start of the season, Plymouth girls track coach Paul Patrick had no idea how good his team would be. He certainly didn't anticipate the Lady Pilgrims' stellar Northern Lakes Conference finish.
With host Warsaw in a league of its own, the rest of a tightly-bunched NLC pack was left to battle it out for second place at Tuesday's conference championship meet. In the end, Plymouth backed up a second-place finish in the league dual meet season with a runner-up finish at the championships, the team's highest finish at the meet since Patrick took the reigns nine years ago.
