Lady Pilgrims fall 6-4 to Tigers

May 13, 2014

PLYMOUTH — Plymouth made its run, but the rally was just a bit too little, too late.
The Lady Pilgrims battled back from a five-run top of the first by Warsaw with three runs in the sixth, but they ultimately fell short 6-4 in a Northern Lakes Conference softball game with visiting Warsaw at home in Centennial Park Monday.
“I’m really proud of how we played today; we didn’t show that we were behind,” said Plymouth head coach Haley Church. “We looked like we were trying to take charge the whole time, and it was fun to see them put it together.”

Plymouth falls to Memorial, 7-1

May 8, 2014

PLYMOUTH — In a battle of first-place NLC contenders it was Elkhart Memorial coming away the big winner Wednesday night at Bill Nixon Field, taking a 7-1 win over Plymouth.
The game turned out to have even more significance as Wawasee picked up their first NLC win over Warsaw putting the Chargers in sole possession — for the moment — of the top slot in the conference with a 6-2 record. Plymouth, NorthWood and Warsaw stand at 5-3, Northridge is a half game off the pace at 4-2.

Lady Pilgrims fall 10-5
It was an eventful start to the second round of conference as Plymouth traveled to face the Chargers of Elkhart Memorial. The Lady Pilgrims ultimately fell 10-5.
The game began with Plymouth knocking on the door, but Elkhart made the plays they needed to and thus kept Bailey Hatfield from scoring on a potential RBI double from Hayley Brown. Elkhart retaliated and managed to score five runs in the first inning. Both teams continued to put the bat on the ball, but the defense kept the game in check through innings two and three.

Lady Pilgrims stay perfect in NLC

May 7, 2014

PLYMOUTH — With an unbeaten conference record on the line, Plymouth’s seniors gave the rest of the Lady Pilgrims lineup a pep talk prior to their meet with Goshen Tuesday.
They must have taken it to heart because the squad played some of its best tennis of the season en route to a 3-2 victory over fellow unbeaten Northern Lakes Conference team Goshen at home at Centennial Park.
“We talked a little bit about it yesterday, about how good Goshen is. Our seniors really stepped up and got the kids ready to play,” said Plymouth head coach Brad Haeck.
