BOURBON — Triton Elementary students are expected to have the following supplies when school begins on Aug. 13.

KINDERGARTEN
Gym Shoes-Velcro & Socks
Backpack-LARGE size without wheels
Please do not label the following supplies with your child’s name:
Glue sticks 6-Elmer’s Brand
Watercolors-1 eight-color plastic case
Erasers-1 pink Pearl Brand
Tissues-2 boxes of 250 count
Pocket folders-4 (no plastic) *Sturdy type/picture folders (no prongs)
1 small bottle of Hand Sanitizer
3x5 Index cards-100 white lined-Oxford Brand
Scissors-Fiskars-blunt end

North Liberty Elementary School
The following items are needed by all students:
• Two boxes sharpened pencils #2 yellow only
• Two regular boxes facial tissue
• One container of disinfecting wipes
• One bottle of hand sanitizer
• Gym shoes – non marking soles with name written inside
• One ream of white copy paper is requested for each child

KINDERGARTEN
• One 3-hole zipper pouch
• One plastic pencil box
• One pair of Fiskers brand safety scissors
• Four boxes of 24 count crayons

• Two boxes of 24 pack of crayons

Second Grade:
• One pencil pouch (11X6)
• One box of #2 pencils
• Two Dry Erase Markers (black)
• One box of Kleenex
• One box of 24 pack of crayons/1 box of 12 pack of colored pencils

Third Grade:
• One pencil pouch (11X6)

School supplies for Culver Community Schools

Recommended supplies for the elementary school:

KINDERGARTEN
One box zip bags gallon or quart
One package Napkins or I roll of paper towels
Two large boxes of Kleenex
Four large glue sticks
1 package plastic spoons or forks
1 package paper plates small or large
One container of disinfecting wipes
Full size backpack/book bag (large enough to fit a folder. No wheels please)
Do Not Buy: Crayons, pencils, scissors, erasers

Back to School: LaVille Elementary's School Supply list

The following school supplies are recommended for the 2014-2015 school year:

Kindergarten
• Plastic school box
• A pair of tennis shoes to be worn in gym class. Gym shoes with shoestring or Velcro only.
White bottoms preferred. No shoes with zippers. No slip-on shoes. These will need to stay at school. They need not be new, just clean and properly fitted.
Please print your child’s name on each shoe.
• A rectangle school bag measuring at least 13”x16”. A large bag is needed to carry home completed work,projects and important notes.

Band camps underway

BOURBON/PLYMOUTH — Triton and Plymouth band students have been hitting the field practicing their shows for the upcoming band season.

Triton has been focusing on a classical music themed show and Plymouth has been fine tuning, what band director Brian Ames describes as: "very different than any marching show anybody’s probably ever seen.”

The article in today's Pilot News shares some of the details about how the bands spend this week preparing for a return to the field and competition.

High speed chase leads to arrest

August 1, 2014

LAPAZ — An attempted traffic stop on US Highway 31 in Lapaz for a speeding violation early Thursday morning took police on a chase down the highway for several miles.

According to the police report, a 28-year-old Niles, Mich. man sped away from Marshall County police at about 2:15 a.m. near the US 31 and US Highway 6 intersection. The vehicle was disabled and came to a stop near 9A Road.

PLYMOUTH — Mary Ann Batcho, passed peacefully, on July 22, 2014, at the home of her daughter, Mary Jo (Stan) Kaser. This fulfills a promise made by her children that their parents, Mary and Joseph, never would be placed in a nursing home.
