Those planning to be the only Elsa at the Halloween party might want to let that one go. It's likely she'll be the number one costume this year. Mashable asked the data miners at Google Trends to share what costumes people are searching the most, and unsurprisingly, Queen Elsa tops the list. She's joined by a few of her Frozen castmates, and a whole slew of familiar faces in the pop culture world. So, while that Guardian's of the Galaxy costume may seem like a really awesome idea, thousands of others are planning to wear the same thing.

MARSHALL COUNTY — Halloween is only two weeks away, but Downtown Plymouth's merchants will celebrate this weekend.

On Friday, Oct. 23, the Plymouth Parks Department will hold the Centennial Park's Haunted Grounds event from 6 to 8 p.m. Activities, candy, costumes, and a hay ride are free to those attending at Freyman Shelter.

The Plymouth Chamber of Commerce will hold a downtown Halloween Parade and Trick-or-Treating day from 1 to 3 p.m. on October 25. The route will be along Michigan Street. Participants are encouraged to wear their costumes.

Substitute teacher fired from area schools

PLYMOUTH -- A substitute teacher hired recently by the Plymouth Community School Corporation was fired when school officials were tipped by a parent that the male substitute had allegedly been involved in criminal activity in another state.

PLYMOUTH — On the night of Oct. 15 a report was made to the Plymouth Police Department regarding a burglary and robbery on Hoham Drive.
According to the police report, Hubert Dulworth stated that an unknown subject had broken into a business that he managed and then attacked him. Dulworth stated that he was then hit on his head and became unconscious. He also informed officers that a large amount of cash was taken.

Mary was born Dec. 31, 1921 in Prestonberg, Kent. to Alan and Maude (Helton) Hale. She was married to Roscoe Jackson, who preceded her in death. She was then married to Edward Sester, who also preceded her in death along with her parents; brothers, Johnny, Addis, Mannis, Paul, Woodrow, Will, and Clell Hale; and sisters, Lila Klingerman and Ruby Kinsey.

PLYMOUTH — Bart E. Woodke, age 53, of Plymouth, Indiana, 46563, passed away at 5:49 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, at home.
Bart was born on July 30, 1961, in Gary, to Phillip and Rose M. (Malast) Woodke. Bart enjoyed marathon running, cooking, and animals. He had worked in Washington, D.C. for 20 years and was working near the Pentagon on 9-11. Most recently he worked at Wendy’s as a cook. He moved to the Plymouth area from LaCrosse, Indiana, about five years ago.

PLYMOUTH – Helen Louise (Hackett) Spier, 89, a Plymouth resident most of her life, passed away at 6:14 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014 in the We Belong Senior Home in Plymouth.
The daughter of Victor and Elizabeth (Gross) Hackett, Helen was born on Aug. 2, 1925 in Akron, Ohio. She was a 1943 graduate of Newburg High School in Newburg, WV.
On Sept. 7, 1952, Helen and Henry H. “JR” Spier were married in Plymouth. Henry preceded her in death on March 29, 1988.
