City Attorney Sean Surrisi requested approval of a high speed rail memorandum or ‚Äúhandshake‚ÄĚ that while does not tie Plymouth down to any contracts or deals yet for the proposed high speed passenger train project, shows their interest in the possibility of the project.
PLYMOUTH ‚ÄĒ Two arrests have been confirmed from a warrant served on a residence in Plymouth yesterday morning.
According to a press release from the Indiana State Police - Bremen Post, the arrests came about as a result of a seven month investigation conducted by the Indiana State Police Criminal Interdiction Team.
PLYMOUTH ‚ÄĒ This year's run for Freedom Park will be a bit more colorful, with the addition of three color stations. The event is on track for Saturday.
In a color run, walkers, runners or anyone taking part is dusted with colored corn starch at various points throughout the event. This is a twist added onto what is shaping up to be a good turnout, organizers said.
The event is to help raise funds for the proposed Freedom Park project, an all-inclusive playground that will eventually be located at the Hoosiers Old Wheel Pavilion.
MARSHALL COUNTY ‚ÄĒ In a workshop following the County Council meeting on Monday, county auditor Penny Lukenbill explained how the calendar contributed to an unusual budget crunch for Marshall County's multimillion dollar budget.
Instead of raises, the employees will take home a 27th paycheck. this is the equivalent to a 4 percent wage increase, Lukenbill told the council.
‚ÄúThe way I calculated that extra pay was keeping the same rate as this year, everybody their hourly or bi-weekly rate stays the same,‚ÄĚ said Lukenbill.
MARSHALL COUNTY ‚ÄĒ The Marshall County Board of Zoning Appeals approved the request of the local ABATE motorcycle club to hold its' end of summer fundraising bash on private property at 10B and Upus roads.
The issue came up before the board last month, but was tabled until additional information and concerns could be addressed. Security, traffic control and sanitary concerns were discussed and documentation submitted by the organizers.

Born in Plymouth on Oct. 5, 1990, Nicole was the daughter of Dwight J. and Julie A. (Durham) Beguin.

PLYMOUTH ‚ÄĒ Lenore Patricia Munroe, 63, of Plymouth, passed away Sunday in Loyola University Medical Center ‚Äď Maywood, Ill. from complications of a July 14th heart attack.
Le was a former resident of Leominster, Mass. and moved to Plymouth in 2004. She was known to many as a cheerfully helpful small claims deputy in the Marshall County Clerk‚Äôs office over the past eight years.
Born in Cambridge, Mass. on March 22, 1951, Le is one of Charles L. and Alice B. (Mulqueeny) Munroe‚Äôs six children.

CULVER ‚ÄĒ Gerald ‚ÄúJerry‚ÄĚ Arthur Cox Sr. of Culver, formerly from Tinley Park, Ill., passed away peacefully at 3:55 p.m. on Aug. 8, 2014 in the home he loved so much in the loving arms of his caring wife, Monica Cox. Jerry wed his sweetheart Monica McCawley on Sept. 4, 1965. His wake and a celebration of his life will be held in his home at 19716 S.R. 117, Culver.
