MISHAWAKA â Roy Daniel âDanâ Gaby, 72, passed away at 4:43 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013 at Center for Hospice Care, South Bend. He retired from NIPSCO in 2001 after 36 years of service. Dan was born Dec. 23, 1940 in Flint, Mich. to the late Roy L. and Ruth E. (Wright) Gaby and raised in Argos. In 1970 he moved to Mishawaka from Plymouth. On Oct. 10, 1961 in Rutledge, Tenn. he married Nancy (Hall) Gaby, who preceded him in death on June 9, 2008.

PLYMOUTH â Alves Donal âDonâ OâKeefe, 82, a lifetime Plymouth resident, passed away at 12:04 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at his sisterâs residence, where he had been living for the past year.
The son of Alves D. and Doris M. VanVactor OâKeefe, Don was born Feb. 28, 1931 in Ft. Wayne. A 1950 graduate of Plymouth High School, Don also attended Chicago Tech.
Don served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

VALPARAISO âÂ Rose O. Proffitt, 96, of Valparaiso passed away Friday, Nov. 15, 2013. She was born March 11, 1917 in Chicago. She was a Patricia Stevens Model in Chicago, a business woman, Proffittâs Boat Rental on Spectacle Lake and superintendent of the open flower shower at the Porter County fair for over 25 years, a lifetime member of the Womanâs Club, also a 50 year + member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was the âWorthy Matronâ in 1966. She was also a homemaker.
BOURBON â The Triton Lady Trojans came away victorious in their home opener at the Trojan Trench, defeating the Argos Lady Dragons 53-25 in a strong defensive effort.
Triton got off to a quick start in the first, pushing the tempo and forcing 14 turnovers in the quarter with their three-quarter court pressure.
âWe have to cut down on our turnovers against the press,â said Dragon Coach Gary Teel when talking about the key to the game. âYou just canât make that many turnovers against a quality team and still be in the game. Itâs just not going to happen.â
Glenn downs Lady Eagles
John Glennâs girls basketball team stayed perfect with a dominant 58-29 win at Culver Girls Academy Tuesday.
The Lady Falcons jumped out to a 31-17 halftime lead with a 26-9 second quarter and never looked back in the win, which pushed the team out to 3-0.
Freshman Kyannah Stull led all scorers with 19 points, while Kyler Columbia scored 17 for Glenn.
CGA was paced by MArie Steinerâs 16 points in the loss, which dropped the Lady Eagles to 1-2 on the year.
