PHOENIX, Ariz. â€”Â Amanda M. Sobieck Erow, 43 of Phoenix, Ariz. passed away unexpectedly Feb. 19, 2014.
Born Aug. 21, 1970 in Winamac, she was the daughter of the late John R. Hardt and Nettie (Watts) Edwards. On Oct. 12, 2013 she married Steve Erow. He survives.
She was a 1988 Knox High School graduate.
Amanda was a dedicated Registered Nurse with a passion for her profession. She was employed at Cigna Health in Phoenix.
ARGOS â€” A man was arrested Sunday at the McDonald's/BP Gas Station after he discharged a 9 mm pistol in the men's restroom.

LEITERâ€™S FORD â€” Former Leiterâ€™s Ford resident, Mr. Dan Cissna, 74, was surrounded by his loving family when heÂ passed away at 3:30 a.m. on March 29, 2014 at Hickory Creek of Winamac. This endedÂ his valiant 30-year battle with multiple sclerosis.

BREMEN â€”Â Pauline Gurtner, 98 years old, residing in Bremen, passed away at 6:23 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Pilgrim Manor, Plymouth. Mrs. Gurtner was born on Jan. 10, 1916 in Wabash to the late Victor and Elizabeth (Fahl) Landis. She has lived in Bremen for the past 50 years. On Nov. 25, 1937 in Wabash, she was united in marriage to Guilford B. Gurtner who preceded in death on Dec. 23, 1989. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, James and Phillip Landis; and one sister, Ruth Dale.

LOGANSPORT â€”Â John R. Wakeland, 91, of Logansport, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014 in the emergency room at Logansport Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 3, 1923 in Veedersburg, he was the son of Manson A. and Lola M. Sigler Wakeland. He was married to Dorotha Betty Smith Wakeland, who survives.
John proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was retired from Logan Machine where he had worked as a machinist.

BREMEN â€”Â Ronald F. Fanning Sr., 72, of Bremen, died Monday, March 31, 2014 in Elkhart. Arrangements are pending at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen.
