Kosciusko police seeking identity of alleged robber

LEESBURG — Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department deputies responded Friday evening at 9:20 p.m. to the location of the Leesburg Freedom Express gas station/convenience store, 201 South Main Street regarding an attempted robbery. 

Officers were advised that a male, possibly teenager, had entered the business and attempted to rob the cashier.  The suspect was denied, and fled the business.  He was last viewed running eastbound on Prairie Street, in the town of Leesburg.

Argos downs Bremen, 4-peats at sectional

ARGOS — The Argos Dragons and the Bremen Lions have made a habit of meeting in the boys soccer sectional final.
For the fourth straight year, the two teams have advanced to face each other, and for the fourth year it was the Dragons taking the title, this time 3-1 in an Argos Soccer Sectional final Saturday.

Panthers top Rockies for title

PLYMOUTH — After the late regular-season matchup between NLC rivals Plymouth and NorthWood ended in a scoreless tie, Saturday’s Plymouth Soccer Sectional championship game promised to be a dramatic one.
The title match delivered as NorthWood scored the game’s only goal on a controversial penalty kick in the 59th minute, then held on for the narrowest of 1-0 wins over the host Rockies at Kindt Soccerplex.

Culver Academies, Plymouth girls advance at CC sectional

CULVER — With Warsaw in a league of its own, Saturday’s Culver Academies Cross Country Sectional was essentially a race for second place.
The Tigers easily repeated as champions in both the girls and boys races, while the host Eagles took second in the team standings, and Plymouth’s girls also qualified for regional with a third-place result.
The Lady Eagles were led by Stephanie Ma’s 10th-place finish, while Olivia Martinez claimed 11th, Annie Shea was 14th, Mary Terhune was 16th, and Sara Brismar finished in 19th for host CGA.

PLYMOUTH — Mary K. Regnier, age 67, of Plymouth, passed away at 5:15 p.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014, at Miller’s Merry Manor, in Plymouth.
Mary was born on Jan. 31, 1947, in Logansport, to Henry and Mae (Strong) Rothermel. Mary and Darrell R. Regnier were married on Sept. 12, 1992, in Plymouth. Darrell preceded Mary in passing on May 1, 2010. Mary was a sales representative, in the jewelry department, at J.C. Penney for many years. Her greatest joy was her love of animals.

Run with the Mayor of La Porte Saturday

PLYMOUTH/MARSHALL COUNTY – Blair Milo has been hitting the road to get residents statewide to get moving. Now it’s Plymouth’s turn.

At noon on Saturday, Oct. 11, Milo is inviting Marshall County residents to come to Young Amphitheater in Centennial Park for a free 5k race where folks can run, walk, hop, skip or whatever they like to get moving. The program is called Step-Up Saturdays.

Milo is the mayor of LaPorte. After successfully implementing fitness Fridays that got her residents up and moving, she wanted to bring that success elsewhere.
