PLYMOUTH – Eric Laurence Arvesen, 47, of Plymouth, died unexpectedly of natural causes on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014 at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center – Plymouth Campus.
He was born on April 8, 1967 in Harvey, Illinois, to Robert C. and Janet L. (Van Asten) Arvesen. One year later the family moved to Plymouth where he would receive his education. During high school he was active with theater and choir, graduating from Plymouth High School in 1985.

ETNA GREEN — Betty I. Sparks, 88, of Etna Green, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014 at 8:45 p.m. in Mason Health Care Center, Warsaw, Indiana.
Betty was born Sept. 10, 1926 to Isaac and Madeline (Barth) Long at (Huffman Lake) Kosciusko County, Indiana. She has been a lifelong resident.

Food bags can be a deadly hazard for pets

We are often warned of the dangers of suffocation with printed labels on plastic bags. We think of children playing with the bags and being at risk. Kids aren’t the only ones at risk.
“I had no idea, I never thought that something like that could happen,” began Bunnie Sullivan.
Sullivan lost her beloved German Shepard due to suffocation. The incident took the life of three year old Carson while Sullivan was away.

Boys soccer
Osborn leads Dragons
Josiah Osborn scored twice and assisted on another goal, and Argos beat Peru 3-0 in the semifinal round at the Peru Boys Soccer Rectional Thursday night.
Osborn opened the scoring on an Aaron Dowdle assist in the 20th minute. Damon Binkley tallied another goal on an Osborn assist in the 23rd minute, and Osborn closed out the scoring on a Chandler Campbell helper in the 48th minute to bring the score to its final margin.
Argos outshot Peru 8-1 in the win. Tylor Peters finished with one save in goal for the shutout.

NSC football says goodbye tonight

October 17, 2014

Today marks the end of the high school football regular season and it also marks the end of the Northern State Conference in football, a conference that’s more than half a century old.
The eight-team NSC will dissolve as four teams - New Prairie, Glenn, Bremen and  Jimtown - will join the Northern Indiana Conference and begin NIC play in the 2015-16 school year.
