Power outage and a smoke-filled church

PLYMOUTH — Plymouth Fire Department responded to Calvary Lutheran Church Monday morning. No fire was found, but the building was filled with smoke.

Plymouth, Triton music programs earn national recognition

MARSHALL COUNTY — Both Plymouth and Triton Community Schools earned recognition among the elite from the National Association of Music Merchants. The Marshall County Schools were two of five Indiana public school music programs and among only 96 programs recognized nationwide.

TEEGARDEN — Genova Arlene Kaser, 91, passed away at 9:10 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2014 at Walkerton-Miller’s Merry Manor, Walkerton. Genova was born on April 27, 1922 in St. Joseph County to the late Earl and Inez Mae (Mangus) Gensinger. She graduated from North Liberty High School and lived most of her life in Teegarden.

CULVER — Charlene Strang of Culver concluded her loving, giving life on April 4 at the age of 87. She was given the name Charlene by her father, who was certain it could never be converted to a nickname. Naturally she later became “Chuckie” to the many who were enriched by knowing her as wife, mother, friend, and significant contributor to the Culver community.

Seed to Salad garden underway
