PLYMOUTH ‚ÄĒ Former Marshall County businessmen David Ferguson and Alan Donohue have been arraigned in court on charges levied last week that include theft and violations of the state‚Äôs Racketeering law.
Donohue and Ferguson surrendered to authorities on Monday afternoon. Bond was set at $15,000 each, which was posted quickly.
On Tuesday, the defendants appeared in court with Amy Griner, their attorney from Mishawaka.
PLYMOUTH ‚ÄĒ The Downtown Revitalization council discussed ways to continue to improve the downtown area of Plymouth.
Coming off the successful ribbon cutting ceremony at River Park Square last month, suggestions include expanding the Greenway Trail through the park, acquiring additional houses or businesses to turn into greenspace and pitching empty lots to developers for possible housing.
While no decision on any of these was made, there are plans to acquire additional structures located in flood plain areas in 2016.

PLYMOUTH ‚ÄĒ Questions about the county‚Äôs weather warning sirens were raised at the county commissioners‚Äô meeting Monday morning,
‚ÄúI have heard some rumblings out in the community about the weather sirens not being activated,‚ÄĚ said Commissioner Kevin Overmyer. ‚ÄúHave we found out why or do we know what has happened?‚ÄĚ
Clyde Avery, of the Marshall County Emergency Management Agency, explained what he knew about the sirens to the commissions as well as concerns over the county's emergency plan not being utilized.

PLYMOUTH ‚ÄĒ Mike Hite, parks department superintendent, reported that the establishment of the new River Park Square is going well, although the program is complicated and is still being worked out. One change to initial plans is to install a start button at the splash pad.

PLYMOUTH ‚ÄĒ Lifetime Plymouth resident, Ben Kersey, 75, passed away at 7:47 a.m. Friday, July 4 in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center ‚Äď Plymouth Campus following an illness.
Ben was born in Plymouth on March 6, 1939, the son of Dale E. Kersey Sr. and Annabelle (McKesson) Kersey. He received his education at Lincoln High School with the class of 1956.
He enjoyed a lifetime of hunting and fishing with family and friends. He had been a member of MARCO Bass Masters.
