PLYMOUTH â€” Evelyn E. Zumbaugh, 94, formerly of Baker Street, passed away at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 3, 2014 at Millerâ€™s Merry Manor, Plymouth.
Born in LaPaz on Jan. 21, 1920, Evelyn was the daughter of Frank M. and Elsie Bachtel Rankert. She graduated from LaPaz High School in 1938.
Evelyn married Chalon F. Zumbaugh in the Pine Creek Parsonage in North Liberty on June 25, 1939, who preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 1994.

PLYMOUTH â€”Â Lee A. Bowman, 55, a lifetime Plymouth resident, died at 4:10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Pilgrim Manor, Plymouth. Arrangements are pending with the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth.
CULVER â€” Culver Communityâ€™s boys basketball team attempted quality shots almost from the opening tip Tuesday.
Once the second quarter rolled around those shots really started falling.
The host Cavs rattled off 11 unanswered second-frame points to construct a double-digit advantage and nailed 9-of-11 tries from the floor in the third stanza to put away a 64-31 Class A Sectional 51 first-round win over LaCrosse at John R. Nelson Gymnasium.
Culver advances to a Friday semifinal bout against six-time defending sectional champion Triton at 6:30 p.m. Argos and South Central follow at 8 p.m.
TIPPECANOE â€” An accident at a train crossing in Tippecanoe is being handled. There were no injuries in the accident.
MARSHALL COUNTY â€” If proof is needed that spring is on its way, Daylight Savings Time goes into effect Sunday, March 9 when clocks are pushed ahead one hour.
The change occurs at 2 a.m. Sunday, which means time will move 60 minutes to 3 a.m.

BOURBON â€”Â Vonna Mae (Summers) Rettinger, 86, died from cancer early Sunday morning, March 2. A Bourbon area resident for most of her life, she had resided in Millerâ€™s Senior Living facility in Plymouth for the last several years before recently moving to Gardenâ€™s at Lake City in Warsaw.
