SEBRING, Fla. â€” Betty Imogene Geible, age 91, passed away Friday, Aug. 8, 2014 at her home in Sebring, Fla. She was born Feb. 8, 1923 in Plymouth to Arthur Long and Ollie Johnson Long.

MENTONE â€” Floyd W. Rule Jr., 91, of Mentone, died at 10:40 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014 at the Kosciusko Community Hospital Emergency Room unexpectedly.
He was born May 2, 1923 in Kosciusko County to Floyd W. and Hazel (Hollar) Rule.
On June 25, 1949 in Warsaw at his parentsâ€™ home he was married to Bernice Klingel; she survives.
He worked for Frankâ€™s Manufacturing as a handyman and a welder for 30 years.

MARSHALL COUNTY â€” The Crossing, a faith-based alternative education organization started their first day of classes on Aug. 1. There were 12 morning session participants and three afternoon participants. There is a maximum capacity of 48 students. The program was designed to give at-risk youth a second chance. PLYMOUTH â€” Gordon Floyd â€śGordyâ€ť Nelson, 92, a lifelong resident of the Plymouth community, passed away on Wednesday morning at 6 a.m., Aug. 20, 2014 at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center - Plymouth Campus.Â

Bremen residents will celebrate the retirement party for deputy clerk-treasurer Karen Graverson on Aug. 27 at the Bremen Town Hall. The public is invited to share refreshments.
MARSHALL COUNTY â€” The Marshall County Highway Department gave a lengthy report to the county commissioners on Monday morning. The report included progress on a contract with North Central Co-op for fuel and card readers to make monitoring of where the fuel goes more efficient.
One of the first companies asked the commissioners to approve their application for a road cut to tap into the Metronet near 4A Road. In addition the department and the commissioners discussed three possible new speed limit sign locations and hiring of a new employee.

LAKEVILLE â€” The Lakeville Town Council discussed the comprehensive plan for the town's future development on Wednesday. The opening of the new US Highway 31 will draw some traffic away from the town. However, with Potato Creek, Newton Park, the lakes and wetlands and Notre Dame not too far away as well as the current four lane highway the council feels the town still has a lot to offer.
