KNOX/HAMLET â€” Starke County police were sent to the scenes of two separate accidents Monday, both involving semi-trucks and both resulting in a fatality.
Semi, car crash leaves one dead, two injured
One woman is dead and two more people are injured after an accident involving a car and a semi occurred on S.R. !0 and Range Road Monday, Sept. 29.
Starke County 911 Dispatch received a call at approximately 11:03 a.m. The caller said there had been an accident involving a car and a semi on S.R. 10 and Range Rd.
LAKEVILLE â€” The town of Lakeville's efforts to create better parks for it's community is getting a little more time. The park survey for residents to create a five year plan has been extended to October 31. The survey asks general questions of the makeup of the population, but also information on accessibility, kinds of activities to be available, and features made for public enjoyment.
"Basically I have a bunch of ideas I'm trying to pursue through Indiana Mainstreet," said Shirley Rynearson, former park board president for Lakeville.
PLYMOUTH â€” The 7 a.m. police raid Friday at a house on Adams Street was rumored to be loud, if the high school studentsâ€™ tweets about it were any indication.
According to public information officer Trent Smith with the Indiana State Police Bremen Post, the department served a search warrant at the house in the 800 block of Adams Street after an investigation led police to suspect that the manufacture of meth may have been under way.
PLYMOUTH â€” A fire alarm at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center Tuesday afternoon turned out to be no big deal, but serious enough to trigger a call to the fire department.
According to public relations manager Robert Sisk with SJRMC, a piece of equipment in the lab malfunctioned, causing smoke to fill the area.
Plymouth Fire Department was called and responded and was back at the station in about 15 minutes.

ARGOS â€” Terry William Thompson, 70, of Argos died Sept. 28, 2014 at 2 a.m. at his residence following a year long illness.
He was born March 10, 1944 in Argos to Gail Austin Thompson and Hazel Josephine (Hessler) Thompson. He has lived in the Argos community most of his life.
Terry worked for R.R. Donnelley & Sons as a Printer and a Customer Service Specialist retiring in 2001 out of the Minneapolis, Minn. facility after 40 years with the company.
BOURBON/ETNA GREEN AREA â€” Kosciusko County Coroner's Office has confirmed the identity of the two individuals involved in the motor vehicle fatality crash, Saturday Sept. 27, along U.S. 30 in Kosciusko County.
The driver of the pickup truck hit by a semi-tractor trailer was identified as Jenann Patz, 57, of Crown Point. She was preliminarily identified on the evening of the vehicular crash, but positive visual identification was completed by family members on Monday, Sept. 29.
PLYMOUTH â€” An early morning fire Monday gutted a single family home on Harrison Street, leaving the tenants without a home and claiming the life of the family dog.
According to Plymouth Fire Chief Rod Miller, the cause of the fire will remain undetermined. It originated in the garage, spread up the wall of the One and a half story wooden older home and into the attic.
â€śWhen I arrived on scene the garage was fully engulfed and the flames were shooting through the roof,â€ť Miller said.
A neighbor called in the fire at about 3:18 A.M. The tenants were at work.
PLYMOUTH â€” Late last week work was halted on the Metronet conduit installation project on the west bound lane of East Jefferson Street over the Yellow River after the company noticed one of the approach slabs on the bridge had a massive hole beneath it.
The lane is expected to be closed for approximately four weeks. The details can be found in today's Pilot News.

PLYMOUTH â€” Carolyn Jean Wintrode, 73, lost her battle with cancer on Friday, Sept. 26, 2014 at 11:35 p.m. at the South Bend Hospice House.
Born in Vienna, Ill. on Oct. 8, 1940, Jean was the daughter of Walter Reed and Callie Opal (Oâ€™Dell) Williams. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Plymouth with the class of 1958.
On June 17, 1961 Jean married Ronald E. Wintrode in Plymouth.
