BOURBON — It may have been a “pink” game for breast cancer awareness but the true color was the black and blue of defense in a Plymouth win over Triton in girls basketball action, 36-35.
An uncharacteristically poor night shooting by both teams coupled with an equally uncharacteristically poor night at the line by the Lady Pilgrims kept the scoring low and played directly into the game plan of Adam Heckaman and his Lady Trojans.
WALKERTON — On Tuesday night Glenn’s big three seniors played like head coach Kyle Amor expects them to night in and night out.
The result? An impressive 75-35 victory over visiting Culver Academy.
The Falcons’ three starting seniors — Kyler Columbia, Natalie Shetler and Loren Vukovits — combined for 58 points.
Columbia and Shetler led the way with 20 points each, while Vukovits had 18.
“That just shows the talent I have in the starting five,” said Amor when asked if he ever had three players score around the 20-point mark in the same game. “It could be any of the kids any of the nights.
PLYMOUTH — It was much of the same for the Plymouth Lady Pilgrims in a 65-19 victory over the visiting LaVille Lady Lancers Tuesday night. A balanced scoring attack and stingy defense were the keys for the second straight game to start the season.
