SOUTH BEND â€” Michael Leonard Houston, 63, formerly from Granger, passed away at 4:17 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014 at the South Bend Hospice House.
He was born on Aug. 2, 1951 in Mishawaka to the late Kenneth and Norma (Fox) Houston.

HODGKINS, Ill. â€” Marguriete (Margie) Jones, 90, of Hodgkins, Ill. passed away peacefully Sept. 16, 2014, at LaGrange Memorial Hospital in LaGrange, Ill. Margie was born on Jan. 14, 1924 in Redmond, Ore. to Benjamin and Esther (Coburn) Mason. She graduated from Madras High School in Madras, Ore. in 1942. On Jan. 24, 1943 she was married to Lewis Jones at the Portland Army Air Base in Portland, Ore. They were married for 65 years before Lewis passed on Oct. 8, 2008. Margie was a homemaker who loved to sew, quilt and do crafts.

GROVERTOWN â€” Anna Hines, 93, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014 at Catherine Kasper Life Center, Donaldson.
Anna was born Sept. 21, 1920 in Valparaiso to Albert and Mary Meyers.
On Dec. 17, 1937 in Valparaiso, she was married to Ernest Hines. He preceded her in death in 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; and two brothers.
Anna was a homemaker and self employed as an upholsterer. Her hobbies included: collecting dolls; sewing; crafts; making stuffed animals; and doing jigsaw puzzles.

PLYMOUTH â€” David R. Snyder, 42, passed away surrounded by his loving family after a 16 month battle with glioblastoma on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014 at 10:35 a.m.
Born in Seaside, Calif. on March 6, 1972 David was the son of Melvin Snyder and Rosemary K. (Seibert) Spalty. David lived in the Monterey, Calif. area since birth before his family moved to Plymouth when he was 16 years old. David graduated from Knox High School with the class of 1991.

TIPPECANOE â€” Jerry Lee Claxon of Tippecanoe passed away peacefully at his home Friday, Sept. 19, 2014. He was 56 years old and his family at his side.
Jerry was born on Sept. 27, 1957 to Thomas H. and Lois (Parsons) Claxon at Ashland, Ohio. He had been a resident of Tippecanoe the past 30 years. He was a 1975 graduate of East Carter County High School, Grayson, Ky. Jerry also served in the United States Air Force from June 18, 1975 until June 15, 1979.

PLYMOUTH â€” Cecil G. Rankin, age 102, formerly of Plymouth, passed away at 4:30 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at the Indiana Veteranâ€™s Home, in West Lafayette.
Cecil was born on July 5, 1912, in Brookston, to George and Lydia (Elston) Rankin. His family moved to Plymouth in 1940. Cecil married the former Alice M. Cain on Oct. 19, 1935. They were married for 71 years, when Alice preceded him in passing, on Jan. 10, 2007.

PLYMOUTH â€” Ruth Mae Gordon, 98, of Plymouth; and formerly of the Argos community, entered her eternal life on Monday, Sept. 15, 2014 at 5:58 p.m. surrounded by her family, at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center â€“ Plymouth following a short illness.
She was born April 20, 1916 in Rutland to Frank Orange and Hallie (Lowry) Cowen. She had lived most of her adult life in the Argos community.
On Feb. 16, 1936 in Culver she married Walter Lyman Gordon; he preceded in death April 13, 1998.
