PLYMOUTH â€” Ronald â€śMouse,â€ť Spoor, 82, passed away at 6:06 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.
A lifetime resident of Plymouth, Ron was born in Plymouth June 25, 1929, the son of Vern and Carrie Bradford Spoor.
He attended Plymouth schools and was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps.
Aug. 11, 1985, in Plymouth, he and Sharon Parkus Hurford were married.
A talented construction worker he worked for C.L. Morris, Dick Day Construction and Zartman Construction.

VALPARAISO â€” Cathy Ann Roseberry, 62, of Valparaiso,
passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at the VNA
Hospice Center. She was born May 23, 1949, in Plymouth,
to Henry E. and Mildred E. (Heidel) Sahlhoff and graduated
from Plymouth High School in 1967. Cathy had been a purchasing
agent with Rexam Beverage Can Company for 37
years through many transitions. She was a member of St.
Johnâ€™s Lutheran Church in Wanatah where she served as
organist for more than four decades. Through all the years

PLYMOUTH â€” Charles Duane Johnson, 79, of Douglas
Drive, Plymouth, passed away at 1:30
p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011 in the
St. Joseph Regional Medical Center,
Mishawaka following a brief illness. A
lifetime member of the Plymouth community,
he was known to many as Charlie.
He was born the son of Luther S. and
Lila A. (Larsen) Johnson in Plymouth
Nov. 30, 1932. Charlie graduated from
West High School in 1950. He then
served in the U. S. Army from 1953-1955
Oct. 20, 1957 in Knox he took as his bride, the former

PERU â€” Susan Dorthea (Schaefer) Birk, 76, of Peru,
died at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011 at IU Med Center
in Indianapolis. She had been ill for the past year. She was
born Nov. 7, 1935 in Fort Wayne to Louis F and Evelyn
(Burdue) Schaefer. She graduated from LaPaz High School
in 1953 and was married to Ralph E. Birk Aug. 1, 1954. He
preceded her in death Dec. 27, 2008.
Susan and Ralph built their own home in Plymouth,
where they resided from the time of their marriage until

BREMEN â€” Arthur L. Grove, 72, died Tuesday, Nov. 29
at 8:05 p.m. at the Hospice House in South Bend.
He is survived by his wife, Martha E. (McIntosh) Grove
of Bremen; sons, James A. Grove of Arkansas and David
M. Grove of Colorado; daughter, Deborah S. Grove of Ohio;
brother, Bill G. Grove of Arkansas; sister, Carol M. Grove of
Valparaiso; and a stepgranddaughter.
Visitation is Friday, Dec. 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Mishler
Funeral Home, 2030 S.R. 331 in Bremen. Funeral service
will be held Saturday, Dec. 3 at the Milford Christian

LaPORTE â€”Â Mary Louise Swank, 81, of LaPorte, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011 in Goshen at the home of her son; David.
She was born June 21, 1930 in Waterford, daughter of the late Emanuel and Rose (McCormick) Gorden.
She married July 3, 1949 in Michigan City to Robert â€śBobâ€ť Swank who preceded her in death April 11, 2010.
Donald E. Longanecker

PLYMOUTH â€”Â Donald E. Longanecker, 84, of Plymouth, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011 at his home.
He was born April 10, 1927 in Sterling, Ill., the son of Howard Longanecker and Elsie (Dettman) Longanecker.
Donald had worked for LaPorte Transit, retiring in 1989. He was a member of American Legion Post 83, and a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII. Donald enjoyed coin collecting and model cars.
July 24, 1948, in Chicago, Ill., he married Madeleine (Legoff) Longanecker who survives.

MILFORD â€”Â Ruby L. Sawyer, 87, 493 E. Camp Mack Road, Milford, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 8:55 a.m. at her residence from natural causes.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence â€śBudâ€ť Sawyer; daughters Connie (Steve) Schermerhorn, New Paris, Roxann (Tom) Monhaut, Goshen; son Kent (Ann) Sawyer, Milford; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

CULVER â€”Â Mary G. Misch, 71, of Culver died Nov. 25, 2011 at 8:23 a.m.
She is survived by sisters, Kathy (Ed) Allyn of Culver and Nancy Jordan of Lancaster, Pa.
There will be no visitation.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. EST at Resurrection Cemetery, DeMotte.
