WALKERTON — Kent Noel Adkins, 55, of St. Albans, W.Va, formerly of Walkerton, died Jan. 25, 2012 in his home in West Virginia.
Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Krulik of Bremen and Laura Adkins of Knox; two brothers, Jim Adkins of Tennessee and Joe Adkins of Teegarden; three sisters, Donna Erdelyi of Walkerton, Linda Adkins of South Bend and Loretta Smith of Ohio and six grandchildren.Â
SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — Albert Byron Chipman III, Pioneer of Retail Store Design, disabled World War II veteran, District Rotary Governor, Championship Master Swimmer and City Councilman, passed away Friday evening in Schaumburg.
Albert was born April 29, 1922 in Rochester. He grew up in Plymouth, where his father was the Marshall County Judge. The family lived across from the iconic Midwestern courthouse located on the square in the middle of town where his father presided over court.
PLYMOUTH — Merle Eugene Eckert Sr., 82, passed away at 5:10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at his residence, 19431 W. Lincoln Way, Plymouth.
Merle was born the son of Floyd and Cora F. Reynolds Eckert Oct. 13, 1929. He had lived in Marshall County all of his life and graduated from LaPaz High School with the class of 1949.
July 6, 1952, in the 1st Assembly of God Church, Merle and Melissa Marie Gaines were married. Melissa died Dec. 7, 2009.
Merle served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

STURGIS, Mich. — Donald L. Fisher, 89, passed away Jan. 4, 2012 at his home in Sturgis, Mich. with his family by his side. Donald was born Dec. 25, 1922 in Plymouth to Floyd and Vera Fisher. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert.

DECATUR, Ill. — Scott Todd Thomas, 49, of 1640 N. Church St., Decatur, Ill., passed away at 4:40 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, at Prairie Rose Health Care Center, in Pana, Ill.Â
Scott was born Oct. 28, 1962, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Thomas and Julie (Bethke) Thomas.Â
