Annexation discussion draws a crowd

A public hearing for local annexation plans drew a large crowd Monday evening. One long-term goal as part of the annexation proposal would be to discourage the new development of farmland and encourage commercial development.

New business, new abatement

A new business received approval for the personal property tax abatement. Five local companies received recognition for contributing significant capital to expansions over the past year. A second "shovel ready" site is in the works for the county. A local Boy Scout received congratulations from local officials.

WARSAW — Evelyn “Thelma” M. Scott, 93, lifelong resident of the Marshall and Kosciusko County area passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 7:55 a.m. in her Warsaw home.
She was born May 29, 1920 to William and Goldie (Brooks) Brown at Silver Lake. She married Joseph W. Scott on June 12, 1953; he died Jan. 11, 2000. Evelyn attended Atwood High School. She and her husband were both faithful members of the United Pentecostal Church of Bourbon.

Board member resignation expected at Plymouth school board meeting

PLYMOUTH — Among the items being considered by the Plymouth Community Schools Corp. board of Trustees tomorrow night is the expected resignation of one of the board. The identity is not being shared at this point.

PLYMOUTH — Joan C. “Jo” Henderson, 84, a beloved mom, grandma, great-grandma, aunt and friend to many, passed away at 1:27 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2014, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth.
The daughter of Claude Ramon and Bessie Amanda (Dague) Miller, Jo was born on Feb. 11, 1930 at home in Bourbon. She attended Plymouth’s Lincoln High School with the class of 1946. She grew up in Plymouth after her parents moved here from Bourbon and lived within a 30 – 40-mile radius of Plymouth over the years.
