CULVER âÂ Charlene Strang of Culver concluded her loving, giving life on April 4 at the age of 87. She was given the name Charlene by her father, who was certain it could never be converted to a nickname. Naturally she later became âChuckieâ to the many who were enriched by knowing her as wife, mother, friend, and significant contributor to the Culver community.

ROCHESTER âÂ Bette Reynolds, 90, of Rochester died at 12:30 a.m. on April 6, 2014 at Life Care Center, Rochester. Arrangements are pending at the Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester.
PLYMOUTH â Teams of volunteers, students and parents came together this weekend to begin building planting beds for the "seed to Salad" project, organized by Earthworks at Washington Discovery Academy.

PLYMOUTH â Mike McFarland, 59, of Plymouth died on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014. He was born in Burr Oak on Feb. 18, 1955 to the late Robert (Burr Head) and Phebe C. (Aley) McFarland.
He was a retired Water, Wastewater Superintendent and a Supervisor at Donnite Corp. until it closed. He worked hard along side his father (Burr Head) teaching 4-H, shooting sports, care and upkeep of the equipment. As well as a Hunter Education Instructor. Mike was a standing member of NRA, NIOA, AWWA, and IWEA.

PLYMOUTH â Lifetime Plymouth resident John A. Bockman, 71, died suddenly, following an extended illness, at 9:40 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 in Porter Regional Hospital, Valparaiso.
The son of Al J. and Martha (Kohan) Bockman, John was born on March 15, 1943 in Wilmette, Ill. He attended Plymouthâs Lincoln High School with the class of 1961 and had served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.

BOURBON âÂ Susan A. Craig, age 65, a resident of Bourbon, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 7:14 a.m. unexpectedly in her home.
Susan was born the daughter of John Benedict and Helen (Yates) Benedict at Rochester on March 20, 1949. She was a lifelong resident of the Bourbon area and a graduate of Bourbon High School. Susan had been a Pharmacy Technician for more than 20 years at various pharmacies in the area, a member of Bourbon First United Methodist Church and she was a member of the Bourbon American Legion, Post #424 Auxiliary.
