Walorski retains seat; Chamberlin to serve another term

MARSHALL COUNTY — Incumbents retained their seats in yesterday'smidterm elections, with Jackie Walorski (R) defeating Democrat Joe Bock, a University of Notre Dame professor, and Jeff Petermann, an independent who ran under the nomination of the Libertarian party for the US Congressional seat in District 2.

Sheriff Tom Chamberlin will serve a second term, defeating Libertarian challenger Tisha Jacobson-Maher by a wide margin.

With 22 precincts reporting, Sheriff Tom Chamberlin has 85 percent of the vote with 6,148 while Tisha Jacobson-Maher has 1,050 votes.
North Township Board race has Jack Roose with 514 votes, Ronnie R. McCartney with 377 votes, Steven M. Davenport with 344 votes and Foster Lee Davenport Jr. with 331 votes.
Polk Township Board has Richard Parker ahead with 439 votes, Clarence Shively with 433, Jerry Lamb with 407 and Nilas Miller with 297 votes.
Walnut Township Board has David L. Stults ahead with 370 votes, Joseph Stone with 342, Kenneth F. Dowdle with 270 and Russell L. Alderfer with 225.

PLYMOUTH — Rosa Maxine Carter, 86, passed away with family by her side at 4:01 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth.
Born in Mobile, Ala. on Jan. 10, 1928, Maxine was the daughter of Victor C. and Frances E. (Smith) Langley.
On Dec. 22, 1945 in Lucedale, Miss., Maxine married William M. “Buck” Carter. The couple would move from Mississippi to Bremen in 1950. The family would move to Plymouth in 1978.
She was a member of the Lakeville Trinity Church – Assembly of God.

PORT ST LUCIE, Fla. — Oscar Monroe Zehner, age 87, died of natural causes on Oct. 18, 2014 at St Lucie Medical Center in Port St Lucie, Fla. after several months of illness at the St Lucie Medical Center and Palm Garden of Port St Lucie Rehab & Skilled Nursing Facility.

PORT ORANGE, Fla. — Ned B. Haag, passed away peacefully on Oct. 31, 2014.
Ned was born in Plymouth on Oct. 9, 1933 to the late Byron and Bertha Haag.
Ned graduated from Tyner High School class of 1951. He joined the U.S. Navy and served our country from 1953-1957.
After his honorable discharge, Ned returned to Plymouth and engaged mainly in farming. Ned was a member of Port Orange Presbyterian Church. Tyner Odd Fellow Lodge #821, Ormond Beach Moose, and American Legion Post 0208.

GROVERTOWN — Richard A. Keltz, 82, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014 in Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth.
Mr. Keltz was born April 15, 1932 in Plymouth to Edward and Evelyn (Kouts) Keltz and lived in the area all of his life.
On Nov. 22, 1958, in Plymouth, he married the former Anna Meadows, who preceded him in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Dian Wise of Michigan and Beth Browning of Grovertown; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
