CULVER â€” The Culver Community School board voted unanimously at its Nov. 25 meeting to hire Dr. Vicki McGuire as its new superintendent
of schools, replacing outgoing superintendent Brad Schuldt, who will retire as of Jan. 1.

PLYMOUTH â€”Â The Thanksgiving holiday will move the Plymouth trash pick-up schedule back one day for Thursday's trash and recycle pick-up. Allied Waste is closed Thursday, Nov. 28 and will pick up trash and recycling in Plymouth on Friday, Nov. 29. Please remember that your trash and recycling are to be placed at the curb for pick-up at 6 a.m.

CULVER â€” In the preseason, CMA basketball coach Mark Galloway summed up this yearâ€™s team philosophy with one word: defense.

Plymouthâ€™s Hunter Stevens scored team-highs of 21 and 17 points as well as clutching a combined 13 rebounds as the Lady Pilgrims remained unbeaten with close wins over Triton and Valparaiso last week.
CGA sophomore Marie Steiner put up 40 points over two games â€” including 26 in a win over Bowman Academy â€” as CGA earned back-to-back wins over Bowman and LaVille last weekend.

DONALDSON â€” Mary Patricia Wade, 89, passed away in the Catherine Kasper Life Center at 3:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013.
Mary was born Aug. 1, 1924 in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Frank P. and Cecelia Alze (Roy) Edwards.
She graduated from Hobart High School with the class of 1941, and in 1945, from Mercy Hospital as a registered nurse.

BREMEN â€”Â Edwin Joseph De Schepper, 90, passed away surrounded by family Thursday, Nov. 21 in his home.
Edwin was born May 10, 1923 in Bryan, Ohio to Alphonse and Irma (Van Holsbeck) De Schepper. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son at birth, David; two sisters, Mary E. Rogers and Estella M. Houghton and a brother, Cyril De Schepper.
He attended Madison Twp. School and St. Bavo Catholic School in Mishawaka. He worked at Mishawaka Equipment which led to his own business De Schepper Farm Supply.
