Female inmate pronounced dead

PLYMOUTH — Marshall County Sheriff's Department reports that a 35-year-old female inmate was declared dead at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth at approximately 5 a.m. Monday from an apparent medical event.
The death is being investigated by the Indiana State Police, Marshall County coroner, and the sheriff's department.
A further release is forthcoming from the coroner's office as further information becomes available.

WINONA LAKE — A 19th hole playoff is nerve-wracking enough, but facing off against one of your own teammates is even worse.
Culver Girls Academy freshman Mackenzie Toth beat out both teammate Samantha Seibel and Plymouth’s Lauren Rearick to earn the last individual berth out of the Warsaw Girls Golf Sectional Saturday.

Bremen places fourth in Class A New Prairie Invite
Bremen was bolstered by two top 20 performances to finish fourth in the Class A race at the New Prairie Invitational Saturday, while Triton placed eighth in the race, North Judson was 17th, and Culver Community, LaVille and Oregon-Davis also competed in the Class A event.
In the Class AA race, meanwhile, Culver Military Academy finished eighth, while John Glenn was 15th and Plymouth was 22nd.

Jana's Gymnastics helps U.S. regain hand-stand record

PLYMOUTH — Jana’s Gymnastics helped the U.S. regain the world record for most participants doing a hand-stand simultaneously Saturday.
At exactly 1 p.m. EST, gymnasts at Jana’s joined the rest of a group of 20, 478 USA Gymnastics participants in breaking the existing record of 2,402 hand stands set by Australian gymnasts in 2005 in Melbourne.
Prior to the Australians’ record-setting performance, the U.S. owned the record with 1,072 hand stands set as part of the build-up to the 2005 Visa National Gymnastics Championships.
